Andy Todosciuk has been serving the local mid-Michigan community for 40 years as a retailer. It all began with a roadside stand in 1978.
Andy has been a farmer for most of his life. His blossoming relationship with farming started at the age of 8 when he joined his local 4-H club, French's Corners. Andy was very lucky to have great farming mentors in John Jones and Ronald Hubbard. Without them he would not have had the hands-on opportunities to work by their side to gain the skills and work ethic needed to be a farmer.
Beginning in 1978, Andy's roadside stand was located less than a mile north of the Market on the Gilroy farm which is now the entrance to Walmart. Every fall he and his friends harvested pumpkins, gourds, indian corn and other local grown fall products. He built up quite the clientele in those early days as US-27 was the main highway north. Over the years, his huge pumpkins have even made the long ride to Michigan Technological and Northern Michigan Universities' dorm rooms via students vehicles. One such 500+ pound pumpkin made the trip in the front seat of a VW Beatle on someone's lap. Pumpkins have also been purchased by and taken home by Muhammad Ali and Ted Nugent. Andy has the pictures to prove it!
Andy T's Farm Market, at the current site, was born 33 years ago and has grown into one of Michigan's largest farm markets. You will find greenhouses full of flower and vegetable plants in the Spring and pumpkins in the Fall, the scratch bakery making delicious pies, breads, pumpkin rolls, cookies and doughnuts.
Andy and his staff work over 200 acres of farm land, 70 acres are dedicated to a variety of home-grown vegetables at the Market. Offering the freshest produce by using the best environmentally friendly practices to grow award winning and nationally recognized vegetables, plants, flowers and trees is the end goal.
Over the years, Andy T has come to be synonymous with his pumpkins and famous Gourmet Sweet Corn which has been shipped all over the planet! In addition to selling directly from the Market, Andy's Gourmet Sweet Corn is also sold at 20+ stores around Michigan.
